The Encroaching Grey

In the Beginning...

Wherever it was that you were before, you are not there now. Around you is a flat grey mist, cool and damp; if you move your hand through it, you can see it skirl and wind about, almost like a fluid. Beneath your feet is roughly flat stone, that makes a hollow muffled sound as you step.

In the distance, through the mist, you can just barely make out a single light.
